Waseda Wins Penultimate Uni League Game

On Saturday, December 18, Waseda University (Richmond Jerseys) defeated Senshu University (Port Power Jerseys).

Waseda raced out to a healthy lead in the first quarter but Senshu chased down and successfully reduced this lead over the next three quarters of the game. Despite Senshu bringing the score to within striking distance in the final quarter, Waseda never looked like relinquishing their lead. BOG on the day was Michito who Goannas will remember well as the winner of the Japan AFL Best & Fairest Award and the BOG at the Grand Final (Peter Wilson Medal).

Final Score: Waseda 132 Senshu 102

This game has left the race to win the university league’s Iida Cup wide open. The final University League game between Komazawa University and Waseda University will decide the inaugural winner of the Iida Cup. The Komazawa vs Waseda game is scheduled for December 23 (Thursday).
